I graduated from Cardiff Dental Hospital in June 1988 and have been in general practice in Caerleon for 20 years before moving to Malpas in Jan 2009. I work 1 day a week in Malpas and the rest of the week in my own practice in Monmouth.

I enjoy all aspects of general dental practice and have recently undergone training in Smile redesign, and placement of cosmetic all porcelain restorations. I am interested in and am trained in the treatment of patients with tension headaches and posture problems with removable appliances.

I have undergone training in the use of Botox for the treatment of wrinkles to the forehead and around the eyes.

My dental nurse Margot is registered with the General dental Council and has worked with me for over 20 years and therefore has a good understanding of how I work and is very experienced.
I also work in the access centre dealing with very nervous patients with dental emergencies and have a lot of experience with patients who consider themselves to be  "difficult" or "awkward".
I am married with 2 teenage children and enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dogs and playing 5 a side football in my spare time.

Ben Currie - GDC 83721 Team image

Hi I'm Ben Currie and I qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2004. After this completed two years of General Professional Training which involved one year solely working as an associate in NHS general practice and two six monthly posts as a senior house officer in both the Community Dental Service based in Merthyr Tydfil (treating mainly children) and the Hospital Dental Service at Cardiff Dental Hospital. During this two year period I gained the postgraduate qualification MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

This two year period gave me valuable experience in many aspects of clinical dentistry before joining Malpas Dental Practice in 2006.

Team imageJanette Dinnage - GDC 133102

I qualified in 2000 from Bristol and got my MFDS in 2005 from Edinburgh. I did my VT year in Nottingham and stayed on as an associate after. I then worked at Derby Royal Infirmary as a maxilla facial SHO and a clinical assistant at Leicester Royal Infirmary in oral surgery.

I then worked and travelled to Australia working in oral surgery at Sydney Dental Hospital and then in Queensland Dental Clinic with flying doctor service to help serve aboriginal communities dental services.

On my return to the UK I was based in Worthing and Chichester in general practice and community hospital doing a paediatric general anaesthetic list. I then moved to Cardiff in 2005 and began my current position as an associate at Malpas Dental Practice and from 2005-2008 I did part time post at Cardiff Dental School in the general anaesthetics for Paediatric Department. I currently work part time as an associate treating NHS and Private patients. I enjoy general dentistry and its variety. I enjoy restoring the general aesthetics of everyone's smile and find restoring people's confidence in both their smile and their experience at the dentist very rewarding. I've been working with Alex my nurse for 3 years now and we work well as a team and hope we make patients feel relaxed and confident.

Outside work, my 2 young children keep me very busy and I enjoy seeing the world through their eyes. I enjoy the great outdoors hiking, snow boarding and hope once the children are a bit older, I can get back into rock climbing. In the meantime, I like to keep fit when time allows through Pilates and aerobics.
